Joint Action: The Orthopaedic Research Appeal of the BOA

We have moved away from direct funding of small research grants (pump-priming) and are concentrating our resources on infrastructure and facilitating future research, where we believe we can create a bigger and longer-lasting impact. We continue to raise funds for these infrastructure activities, in particular the establishment of a resource to provide research methodology support through a grant to a UK CRC-registered clinical trial centre.

We are grateful to our BOA members, patients and members of the public who have fundraised for and donated to Joint Action (the BOA’s orthopaedic research appeal) research grants and encourage you to continue to support us as we invest these funds in new ways for the benefit of research into Trauma and Orthopaedics. You will find plenty of fundraising ideas here.

Unfortunately, we are no longer able to issue Orthocards (new or replacements). Please rest assured we did not take this decision lightly, rather on grounds of economic viability. We suggest that you ask your GP or consultant for a letter of confirmation but we cannot guarantee this will be effective.
If you have any other queries about the above, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

If you are a researcher who has previously received Joint Action funding and you have an enquiry, need our logo for your posters/presentations, or need to provide a report, you can continue to contact us here.
